Bible Verse of the Day
“When he had called together all the people?s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. ?In Bethlehem in Judea,? they replied, ?for this is what the prophet has written: ??But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.??”

There are several different prayer ministries at First Baptist.
Prayer Cards are available during worship in the pews. These may be filled out and placed in the offering during the worship service. They will be collected and shared with the Church Staff with concerns and praises lifted up in prayer each Tuesday during the weekly staff meeting.
Prayer Groups: At least two prayer groups meet each week. These groups tend to be small and work to insure confidentiality. Both meet in the Prayer Room located on the church's upper level just down from the kitchen.
Prayer Shawl Group: The Prayer Shawl ministry gathers each Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in the lower level conference room to knit or crochet shawls, share in prayer and fellowship. Prayer Shawls are blessed periodically in worship and shared with members and friends of First Baptist who are ill, bereaved, or in need of encouragement. Well over 100 shawls have been made, blessed and given away since this ministries inception in 2009.
Prayer Chain Ministry: First Baptist has both a day-time and evening prayer chain. Requests for prayer can be shared via the church office (376-3321) or direct to the ministry chair. This vital ministry continues the long tradition of intercessory prayer on behalf of many.
Prayer Services: On occasion a special prayer worship service is held either in the Chapel or Sanctuary at First Baptist. These intimate and focused times of prayer have been encouraged by our Evangelism Ministry Area.
